Mission Statement The mission of the California Conservation Corps is to provide meaningful work and educational opportunities to assist young men and women in becoming more employable, while protecting and enhancing California's environment, human resources and communities.
Volunteer Duties Position Responsibilities: CCC Tutors serve under the Corpsmember Development Education Coordinator, and in conjunction with the John Muir Charter School Teachers. To a lesser degree, they may also work with the CCC Case Manager and VISTA Intern. This team provides GED, High School Diploma, Continuing & Life Skills instructional support to the 18 -25 year old members of the CCC. Position Objectives: 1. Assist CMs with Writing Assignments 2. Assist CMs with Project Logs 3. Assist CMs in Resume Preparation & Job or School Application 4. Assist CMs in Test Prep activities & studies 5. May assist CMs requiring academic remediation & LEL/ESL skill development 
Opportunities for ‘Volunteer Interns’ whose task are to assist CCC in developing collaborative relationships with non-profit & government agencies in order to identify additional ‘volunteers’ to serve CCC Corpsmembers either in Class/Instructional or Life Skills Education Day settings, and opportunities for our Corpsmembers to participate in Community Service projects. This is a great opportunity to gain teaching/mentoring experience and to get involved with the community. Morning and evening hours available. Accepting volunteers as needed on a rolling basis.
